Over 100 Dutch and Belgium companies have shown interest in the first ever E-trading mission to organised by the RVO and Alibaba Holland. The trading mission to Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou will be headed by StartupEnvoy Prince Constantijn. Participating companies are retailers, brands and start-ups in the retail sector. The goal of this mission is to present the different possibilities that Alibaba has to offer with their platform.
For many companies, the Chinese market has great appeal, due to the predicted growth in the cross-border market which will grow to €158 billion by 2020. The platform Tmall Global from Alibaba, offers western companies to directly sell their products to more than 460 million Chinese consumers. China has the biggest e-commerce market in the world, and certainly in the area of online retail the most attractive market.
